Merseyide Police stall on chop shop investigation

No arrests have been made despite police uncovering one of the largest chop shops in Merseyside Police history.

A number of cars stolen from hard working Southport families led to the discovery of a huge car chop shop in Aintree but despite investigations police have told disappointed victims that no arrests have been made.

One family who returned to their Southport home were faced with a house invasion and watched helplessly as their beloved family car was stolen.

A tracker led to it being discovered at a warehouse in Aintree and an investigation was launched but not enough evidence was uncovered for police to make a formal charge stick.

One victim said: “I was forced by Merseyside Police to buy my stolen car back, despite the car parts from inside the car been identified in the compound, the DI in charge of the case said ‘I do not have time to help you’ ”.
