Meols Cop Bridge in Southport closed after crash

Meols Cop Bridge closed after crash, Southport.

The emergency services were called to Meols Cop Bridge, Southport tonight (Thursday 15 June 2017) following reports of a RTC.

Two lady drivers collided at the traffic lights at approximately 10pm.

Witnesses at the scene reported that the driver blue Toyota Hilux failed a road side breath test, however this has not yet been confirmed by police.

Local diverions were put in place until the scene was cleared by the FMC recovery team.

The driver of the silver Toyota was treated at scene by paramedics before being transfered to Southport & Formby DGH.

Thankfully her condition is not thought to be serious.
