McDonald’s Kew drive-through closed after car breakdown

Tea time has been ruined for many hungry motorists hoping to grab a cheap burger from McDonald’s Kew.

The drive-through has been shut this evening after a car’s front axle seemingly split, leaving a car completely stranded with one wheel facing in the totally wrong direction.

Unable to be moved or pushed aside, McDonald’s staff were left with no choice but to force dozens of cars to reverse out of the drive-through and close it off to anyone else approaching.

The main restaurant remains open but the fast-food restaurant’s car park is full.

A recovery truck has been called and is en route to the scene.

The drive-through is expected to be closed for at least two more hours.
