Burscough 1-3 Kendal
Burscough were dealt yet another blow as they suffered yet another home defeat to visitors Kendal.
Keith McCann’s side had good news earlier in the week that potential relegation battlers Prescot Cables were handed a points reduction. But Burscough failed to capitalise as relegation looms.
A full strength Burscough squad struggled at times to defend as Kendal created chance after chance. Just after the half hour mark Kendal took the lead thanks to Mathew Dudley. Minutes later that lead was doubled Sam Bailey as he found himself in bags of space outside the box and his right footed strike squirmed under Richie Mottram.
Burscough pulled one back moments into the second half as Phil Bannister gave The Linnets hope.
That hope was soon dashed a minute later as Dudley bagged his second as Kendal delivered what turned out to be the ultimate sucker punch.
Burscough remain bottom.
