Police threatening to jump off Southport Pier comes to his senses
Merseyside police were called to Marine Drive this morning when a man threatened to jump off Southport Pier, Tuesday 1 November 2016
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: “We were called to Marine Drive just before 8.30am today (Tuesday) due to concerns for the man’s safety.
The man came to his senses shortly after 9am and was escorted to waiting ambulance.
The man was not injured, although there have been some delays and disruptions on the coastal road due to the incident. The coastal road reopened at 9.15am.
