A man in his 60s is being treated in hospital for severe injuries after a house fire in Formby.
The male suffered critical injuries following the blaze at a home on Holmwood Drive.
It happened late in the evening on Tuesday night.
OTS News understands the fire is not being treated as suspicious and police have not been asked to carry out an investigation.
Emergency services were rushed to the property following a panicked 999 call.
A male, believed to be over 60 years of age, was rescued from the property but required instant medical attention.
He remains in hospital.
