At around 10:50 this morning (Thursday 25th June 2015) a man was rescued from the marine lake by the police and the Southport sailing club by using one of there boats.
It is unknown why the man was in the lake wearing nothing but his underwear or why when he was asked by the police to get out he replied telling them to join him in the water and get wet. He was later taken to shore and assessed by a paramedics team waiting nearby.
