Police are appealing for information after two people died in a collision.
Officers were called after a black BMW 320 was found on Bannister Lane, Hilldale at about 7.15am today (Monday, March 30th) The car appeared to have lost control on a bend and collided with a stone wall.
Sadly two people were pronounced dead at the scene. They can be named as the driver, Stephen Rigbye, 38, of Scarisbrick and his partner and passenger Agnes Parkinson, 40, of Mawdesley.
Police have launched an investigation and are appealing for any witnesses to the collision or anyone who saw a black BMW in the gateway to the Hunter’s Hill Quarry.
Officers believe the collision could have occurred anytime between midnight and about 5am today.
Sgt Alan Baron, of the Road Policing Unit, said: “Sadly this collision has cost two people their lives and I would appeal to any witnesses or anyone who has any information to contact us.”
