A CAR salesman prosecuted for growing his cannabis told a court he wanted to make sure that he got a quality product.
Simon Wood, 50, of Briar Road, Ainsdale, also told magis trates that he was using the drug because it helped with an anxiety issue, as pharmaceutical drugs made him very sick.
Wood appeared at Sefton Magistrates Court on March 7 after police discovered eight large plants in his loft along with four pieces of green cannabis vegetable matter during a search warrant at his home address on November 6.
He was fined £275 and ordered to pay £115 in costs and victim surcharge.
