Man crashes through wall on Mill Lane, Churchtown


The emergency services were called to Mill Lane, Churchtown at approximately 4.20pm this afternoon after a motorist lost control and crashed into a wall, Thursday 24 May 2018.

The fire service freed the driver from his car and transferred him to a waiting ambulance.

It was established that the man was diabetic and had passed out at the wheel.

The man was treated at the scene by paramedics and soon recovered.

North West Air Ambulance also attended but were not needed.

A Merseyside Police spokesperson said:

“We apologise for the inconvenience to drivers heading towards Mill Lane this afternoon, Thursday 24th May, as a result of temporary road closures put in place at the scene of a road traffic collision.”

“The closure was necessary due to the number of emergency vehicles in attendance and in order to establish level of injury.

“Thankfully, in the end there was no serious injury.”
