A 19-year-old male from Southport has been charged by Police after a stabbing on Waverley Street at the weekend.
Callum Cunliffe has been remanded in custody pending trial after being charged with wounding (section 18) under the Offences Against The Person Act.
Cunliffe will appear at Liverpool Crown Court on 28th Sepetember.
Merseyside Police said: “Merseyside Police have charged a 19 year old man from Southport following a stabbing on Saturday (29th August).
The victim, an 18 year old man, was stabbed on Waverley Street, Southport at around 6am following an altercation. This resulted in him receiving stab wounds to his stomach. He remains in hospital at this time with non-life threatening injuries.
Callum Cunliffe, of Loxley Road, was arrested and has now been charged with Section 18 wounding and possession of a bladed article following the incident.
Cunliffe has been remanded in custody until 28th September where he will appear at Liverpool Crown Court for a plea hearing.”
