Major incident as biker critically injured in horror Prom smash

Police have rushed to the scene of a horror crash after a biker collided with a car near to the carousel in Southport this evening.

The promenade and Marine Way Bridge have been closed off while emergency services are giving critical medical attention to the biker.

Paramedics arrived on scene and worked quickly to to stabilise the biker’s condition before transferring them to hospital in a waiting Ambulance.

The road remains closed and police are asking drivers to avoid the area however some inconsiderate motorists are still trying to break past the cordon to get further down the road.
