Torrential rain has wreaked havoc on Southport and Formby after a major rainstorm overnight.
Parts of low lying Southport and Formby in high-risk flood areas have woken up this morning to their roads submerged in inches of rainwater.
Flood prone Freshfield Road roundabout in Formby felt the brunt of the heavy rain and local storm drains are slowly taking the water after being overcome with storm water in the last 12 hours.
Heavy rain also caused flooding around regularly affected areas of Churchtown, causing yet another headache for residents especially around the Verulam Road area.
