Stunned residents on a quiet Southport street have been all a buzz after a swarm of honey bees took over their road.
A huge swarm of honey bees have made a nest on a tree overhanging the pavement on Lawson Street in Southport.
The large hive has amassed over the course of a day and has left homeowners on the street completely stunned by both its size and how quickly it appeared.
One resident said “I heard a buzz and saw a few bees and my dog started getting quite agitated.
“When I looked up and saw the hive I was stunned.
“I contacted an expert who was also shocked by how many there were when I sent them the photo but I’ve been told if they aren’t causing any harm, it’s best to leave them be.
“They aren’t harming us and I don’t think it’s cause for concern. Bees are really good for the environment so they should stay.”
