M6 closed Southbound after lorry overturned

18th September 2019

Following our earlier post, after a lorry overturned on the M6, we can now update you on the latest situation.

The motorway is now closed southbound between junctions 32 and 31A and is expected to remain closed for some time. There is a large quantity of diesel spilled on the carriageway and this needs to be cleaned up for the safety of all motorists, which is of course our priority.

We are in the process of diverting those stuck on the M6 off the motorway but this could take some time.

We are advising all motorists to avoid the area and find alternative routes where possible.

We appreciate that this will have caused a lot of disruption and we will update you as soon as possible.
