Floral tributes have been left on the side of the coast road after a small puppy was hit and killed by a speeding car.
Eddy, a cockapoo, was hit and tragically died around 4pm on Saturday afternoon when walking with his owners along the cycle path near Ainsdale.
A trainee vet who was passing on her motorbike and stopped at the scene bravely gave the poor pooch CPR but it proved fruitless.
Eddy sadly died at the scene and flowers have now been left along one of the coastal road fence posts as a tribute to the loveable pooch.
