Lord Street flats evacuated over fire fear

Fire crews have been called to an apartment block on Lord Street after an alarm was tripped at around 6pm.

Sparking a mass evacuation into the rainy street, residents rushed out of their homes before fire crews from nearby Manchester road fire station quickly rushed to the scene.

A full assessment of the building and the cause of the alarm is ongoing.
