Lord Street Chip shop delay leaves a salty taste in traders mouths

There is something increasingly fishy about the progress of a long awaited Lord Street chippy.

The Kings Plaice was due to open in May 2017 and proudly claimed that they would open with a fanfare of battered cod.

Bosses also asked for fryers and till staff to apply for jobs.

However more than a year on and the grand opening signs remain plastered all over the shop front.

There is no sign that any progress has been made since workmen were last seen in there over 13 months ago.

A nearby bar owner told OTS News “we were very excited when they announced a chip shop was opening because it would bring more trade down our way but nothing has happened.

One day workmen were in fitting the shop and the next they were gone never to be seen again.”
