Sefton Council is asking people to show some good old-fashioned neighbourliness this winter.

The winter weather is expected to hit Southport and the Council is asking people to ‘have a brew and a chat’ with people who may be isolated within our communities.

The Council, in partnership with Sefton CVS, are restarting the Sefton Cares initiative following the positive outcomes of last year’s campaign.

Cllr Paul Cummins, Cabinet Member Adult Social Care, said: “Spending just a few minutes with someone you know can help them feel less isolated, you may be the only friendly face they see from one day to the next.

“There is a lot going on in local communities to reduce social isolation and to encourage people to be active, healthy and well.

“Last year the campaign worked really well so let’s all help reduce social isolation this winter and show that Sefton Cares.”

The Sefton Directory is full of useful information on a wide range of events, services and opportunities to keep people of all ages active, healthy and well. It provides details of clubs and activities for people to take part in within their local community.
