Local residents invited to attend Primary Care Committee
NHS West Lancashire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), will be holding its next Primary Care Committee meeting in public on Tuesday 11 July 2017 at 2pm – 3.30pm in Ormskirk.
This follows NHS West Lancashire CCG’s move to level three primary care co-commissioning in April 2017. This means the local health commissioners now have responsibility of commissioning primary care services locally in West Lancashire and lead on decisions of how funding is allocated.
To support this move and to avoid conflict of interest, the new committee does not offer any local GPs voting rights and is chaired by new CCG lay member Steve Gross.
The committee meetings take place in public, so anyone is welcome to observe and the agenda for the next meeting is now available on the CCG’s website: http://www.westlancashireccg.nhs.uk/
Steve Gross, board lay member at NHS West Lancashire CCG and chair of the new primary care committee, said:
“The move to level three co-commissioning is a significant development for the CCG and also for the health and wellbeing of the residents that we serve.
“As a group of local commissioners and clinicians, we understand what issues face our local communities, and importantly what needs our local people have. These new committee meetings are held in public so anyone can observe them, which further reflects our commitment to be transparent about our plans and decisions”.
The next committee will be held in the Boardroom of the CCG offices in Hilldale on the Ormskirk Hospital site. For instructions on how to find the office, please contact the CCG via 01695 588 000.
