A GP surgery just a few miles from Southport has shut in panic after fears a patient has Coronavirus.
Tarleton Group Practice have closed its doors as an emergency precaution after fears a patient presented themselves with symptoms of the deadly virus.
A patient who visited the practice is believed to have come in contact with the virus and is now undergoing emergency tests.
A spokesperson for the surgery said “the health Centre is closed on Wednesday 19th February 2020 due to following necessary guideline precautions.
“we are waiting for an update from Public Health England and we will update this website with any further information as it becomes available.
“We are operating a remote service and your calls will be answered as normal. In the event of a medical emergency please dial 999.
“If you need medical advice please consider using the NHS111 service or the walk in Centre.”
