Local care home residents raise cash for charities
CARE home residents from across Sefton and West Lancashire have enjoyed a get-together while raising money for charities in the process.
Members of the North West Community Activity Hub for West Lancashire and Sefton Care Homes met at O’Brien’s Tea rooms, in Orm- skirk, for an afternoon tea, raffle, and entertainment and raised £270 for West Lancs mayor’s chosen charities in the process.
A spokesperson for West Lancs Mayor Councillor Neil Furey, said: “The activity hub enjoyed a wonder- ful afternoon tea at O’Brien’s Tea Rooms in Ormskirk.
“This was a fundraising afternoon for the Mayor of West Lancashire’s chosen charities – The 42nd Ormskirk (Skelmersdale St Paul’s) Scout Group, and Skelmersdale’s Sewing Rooms and Evermoor Hub.
“The Deputy Mayor, Councillor Noel Delaney and the Deputy Mayoress, Mrs Ann Stubbert hosted the event and the Kelly Shirley School of Dance from Burscough brought along three extremely talented young vocalists to provide the entertainment which was enjoyed by everyone.
