Liverpool Road remains closed after horror crash

Police are on scene at a horror crash in Ainsdale.

A witness told our reporter at the scene that paramedics have rushed an injured person to hospital, thought to be one of the drivers after a 4×4 and saloon collided on Liverpool Road.

Their injuries are not thought to be serious but they have been taken to Southport hospital as a precaution.

The road remains closed off while an investigation into the cause of the head on collision is carried out. Avoid the area if possible.
