Both vehicle have now been recovered from the scene and the road has now reopened.

Live updates as police close Eastbank Street after crash involving bus and two cars

Police have closed off Eastbank Street this afternoon after a horror crash on the busy main road, Wednesday 10 July 2019.

A Mercedes and a Range Rover collided near to the Wellington Pub just before 3pm.

Emergency services rushed to the scene and police have since closed the road to traffics
Drivers are asked to take alternative routes in and out of Southport.

Witnesses at the scene told our reporter that the driver of the Range Rover pulled out of a loading bay and into the side of the white Mercedes causing a collision with the bus.

One driver is thought to have suffered minor injuries and an investigation into the cause of the smash is now underway.
