LIST | Brilliant organisations and businesses supporting families with free food this half term

A number of community organisations, charities and restaurants are offering free food to struggling families this half term.

Congratulations to all of the groups and businesses below, particularly restaurants already hugely affected by the pandemic.

Sefton Council: Free meals provided to children during half term. Full scheme details to be confirmed on Monday. Also visit Sefton Council Family Wellbeing on Talbot Street for assistance and advice. Emergency Limited Assistance Scheme funding has also increased. Council encourages “anyone in Sefton who may need extra support at this time” to contact 0345 140 0845.

Southport Food Bank: Various premises and opening times. Visit https://southport.foodbank.org.uk/

Southport Baby Bank, Remedy, Lord Street, Town Centre: Lunch hampers to any family in need ‘no questions asked’ – Monday-Wednesday 10am-2pm.

Southport Soup Kitchen, London Street, Town Centre: Food for homeless and disadvantaged of Southport – check opening times at https://southportsoupkitchen.wordpress.com/

Playtown Southport, Marine Drive: Free Kids lunchbox meals – Monday and Tuesday 12pm to 2pm.

Fylde Fish Bar, multiple premises in Marshside, Birkdale and Burscough: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday between 12pm and 2pm. Free children’s meals available (child must be present).
