Crews from Southport Offshore Rescue Trust were called to save a stricken Land Rover stuck on Southport Beach yesterday.
Southport Offshore Rescue Trust said: “Following a 999 call regarding a Land Rover Discovery that had broken down on the tideline, our assistance was requested.
“The casualty was located approximately 1 mile off Weld Road, Southport. Our crew headed out in the Muir Hill tractor. Because the tide was flooding on a spring tidal range, by the time our crew arrived the vehicle was surrounded by water.
“Having ensured all occupants were safe, we attached a tow lie to the Discovery and towed the vehicle to safety to await recovery.”
