A campaign to help a poorly 12 year old Southport boy fulfil his lifelong dream of swimming with dolphins is one step closer.
The fundraising campaign to get £3,000 together for youngster Lewis Wright, who suffers from leukaemia, to swim with dolphins has now passed the halfway stage after donations topped £1,646.
Fundraiser Louise McHugh, Lewis’ auntie, said she wants to do all she can to help make his dream come true.
Louise said: “f I could take all this [illness] for him I would do it in a heart beat.
“Lewis is now on blood and platelet transfusions and having to have regular checks of his body as he has had 2 large bruises appear on his back from nowhere which could be from another under lying issue which will be looked into.
“His temperature is also rising so he will be starting antibiotics as well.
“Lewis was recently diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia currently receiving treatmemt at alder hey hospital.
“I am hoping to raise some money ro get lewis his dream to swim with dolphins and a specialized bike. thankyou to everyone who donates.”
