Letter to the editor | Save Formby Trees

Hi….PLEASE can you give some publicity to our fight here in Formby to save 2 Horse Chestnut trees due to be felled on October 4th…….Sefton Council say they are a health and safety problem…

THIS IS NOT CORRECT as we have a tree specialist report saying that they are not a danger, just need trimming.

Formby council will be paying for them to be trimmed, and our Save the Trees organization have over 1000 signatures to date for these trees to be spared……

Also read: Petition to STOP council from removing formby trees

The pictures of the trees are on our Save The Trees facebook page for you to see…. Sefton council will not trim trees on the corner of Victoria Road and Gores Lane and the residents of the flats there have been trying for years to get them trimmed as the absolutely huge trees are keeping the light out of the flats.!!!!

Why do they want to remove trees from the village which ARE safe and loved by everyone who lives in Formby, but they won’t let the flat owners get some light into their homes????

Sefton Council are a disgrace in this matter, as our replies to emails to their councillers are all the same, and some with spelling mistakes in them.=

Defra has all the information about all this, I emailed no10 Downing Street about this. and we have a petition being signed and a meeting with Formby Councillers tonight about what next can be done.   We need everyone to sign this petition.

Please give us  some publicity, we have sent the details to bbc north west and granada reports, nothing mentioned yet from them.

PLEASE HELP

Thank You

Christine Hodgson (Formby)
