Lazy council leave overflowing bins to put off tourists

Southport residents are furious at the messy state of the town this weekend after hundreds of bins were pictured overflowing.

One furious woman said her proud Town had been left to ruin by the council.

She said “I shop, eat and enjoy a coffee in Southport and it’s beautiful. I wish the tourists saw it nice as well.

“Known to be ‘upmarket’ I was disgusted to once again see over-flowing bins and glass on pavements, and took a photograph of one of the overflowing bins on the pier

“Also, what has happened to the binmen of old who used to clean up all the time? It looks awful – too smelly and very dirty and all around the pavement is a disgrace.”
