After hearing about Queenscourt’s desperate need for PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), Laura Loveday leapt into action and called on friends in China to help her source face masks and launched a crowdfunding appeal to pay for them.
It wasn’t long before 1,000 masks had arrived and more than £1,500 had been raised by friends, family and complete strangers wanting to support Queenscourt.
Laura only wants to cover the cost of the face masks and shipping, so all money raised over that will be donated to Queenscourt, where her husband Ross is a volunteer.
“Queenscourt is such a special place and I just wanted to help them,” said Laura. “I couldn’t have done it without all the support from friends, family and people I don’t even know. It has been amazing.”
Husband Ross, a partner in Spencer Gordon estate agents in Ainsdale Village, has been volunteering on reception at Queenscourt for six years. He is proud of Laura’s efforts. “She just wanted to do something to help and the response has been phenomenal,” he said.
