A popular landscaping company from Southport have branched out into the Christmas tree game, saying they were fed up of the council supplied small tree Birkdale Village received this year.
The official Birkdale Christmas Tree barely towers over 6ft outside of its pot and has been the subject of wide ridicule online and in the village.
So much so MW Henshaw Landscapes have said the situation is a ‘load of baubles’ and taken it upon themselves to donate a fully decorated rival tree for the village.
Calling the original tree a ‘joke’ a spokesperson for MW Henshaw said: “Well Sefton Council wouldn’t do anything about their joke of a Tree so we did.
“After teaming up with [bar] No4 our Team at Buildright NW and MW Henshaw installed a 16 foot whopper of a Tree with plenty of lights.”
“Merry Christmas Birkdale.”
