Knife-wielding man arrested after threatening to kill another man in Birkdale
Merseyside Police has arrested a man following an incident in Southport this afternoon (Tuesday, 11 July).
Officers were called to a flat on Liverpool Road at around 3.50pm and a containment was placed on the property after a resident was reportedly seen holding a knife and making threats to a man who had been in the address.
Officers attended and Liverpool Road was closed for a short time between Crescent Road and Brighton Road.
A short time later a 28-year-old man from Southport was arrested on suspicion of making threats to kill and a knife was recovered. He had sustained a cut to his hand. No-one else was injured during the incident.
