This week, Officers from the Local Policing Team at Southport police station, assisted by Merseyside Police Special Constables continued our work on the awareness of and reduction of knife crime incidents involving young people.
A knife arch was utilised at Southport College on Mornington Road and between 400 – 480 students passed through it, checking for any weapons that may have been in their possession. We are pleased to say that no knives or other weapons were found.

This work continues to build on the #knifefree presentations we are undertaking in local high schools, all of which are opportunities for us to engage with young people to understand how this important issue impacts on their lives.
