King George V Open Evening

King George V College is pleased to be opening its doors to potential students from all year groups, their families and friends at their first Open Evening of the academic year on Tuesday 16 October 2018 from 5.00pm-8.00pm.

After a successful summer where students achieved outstanding A Levels results and the College benefitted from new building developments, including an impressive new front entrance and a soon to be completed outdoor Multi Use Games Area (MUGA), visitors will have the opportunity to tour the College campus and facilities, meet staff and students and find out more about the wide range of courses on offer at Southport’s leading sixth form.

With a 100% pass rate in an impressive number of A Levels subjects and BTEC Advanced Level Extended Diplomas, 50% of students achieving the highest possible grade profiles and 70% of students going to university including prestigious Russell Group destinations King George V College is an excellent choice for Advanced Level study.

KGV Principal Anne-Marie Francis will be delivering a Principal’s Presentation to visitors at 6:00pm and 7:00pm in the recently refurbished Creative Arts building.

Anne-Marie said “We understand that choosing where to study after GCSEs can be an overwhelming decision.  Our open evenings offer the perfect opportunity for prospective students to find out more about our excellent results, enviable facilities and prestigious student destinations including Oxford and Cambridge Universities. This year we have seen exceptional results that reflect the hard work and dedication of King George V students and staff. This year group faced real challenges sitting the newly reformed and much tougher A Level examinations and they are truly a credit to the college, their families and themselves. Equally our BTEC students have excelled themselves, securing very impressive high grades. We know all our leavers will go onto great things and we wish them every success.”

The open event will take place at King George V College on Scarisbrick New Road, Southport with free onsite event parking.
