Kew Woods Primary School has been named as the first school in Sefton to win a special award for wellbeing.
The school on Ovington Drive in Southport was one of five in the North West and 11 across the country to win Optimus Education’s Well Being in Schools Award recently, after a year of hard work. Beverley McNally, deputy headteacher at the school said:
“For the award, we had to submit online evidence and participate in a verification visit for a day too. This involved a tour of the school, visiting lessons, looking at our well being portfolios, meeting pupils, staff, parents and governors.
“This whole-school award focuses on ensuring effective practice and provision is in place that promotes the emotional well- being and mental health of both staff and pupils.
