Kai Havertz has chosen Arsenal, he is the weapon for the title

6th July 2023

The first strike by the gunners is that of the German fantasist who leaves the Blues after three years. So begins a transfer market that promises to be bursting at the seams for fans.

After three years wearing the Chelsea shirt, Kai Havertz is ready to change teams. There’s Arsenal in his future: a deal done for 65 million pounds, 60 of which is a fixed fee and another five in bonuses disbursed upon the achievement of certain results.

Havertz’s statistics

A new chapter in the career of the German fantasist, who after leaving Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2020 in the Premier League has never been able to impose himself permanently but has the great honour of having put his signature on the Champions League final won in May 2021 against Manchester City.

Three years, we said, under the Chelsea colors, totaling 128 appearances and an impressive 32 goals. He had done even better in his four years in the Bundesliga, when he had netted 46 goals in 150 appearances wearing the Bayer jersey. A key piece for the forward area of Arsenal, since Havertz acts as both a ‘trequartista’ and a first forward. An extra weapon up the sleeve of coach Arteta, who will have to try to wrest the Premier League from Pep Guardiola’s hands next year.

The weapon for the league title

After a season lived at the top for much of the time, Manchester City has finally snatched the sceptre of leaders from the Gunners, and what looked like a triumphant ride has turned out to be a new illusion, another one. And next year will be 20 years since the last victory, that of the 2023-2024 season. For now, Bwin bookmakers still see the Citizens ahead, put on the board at 1.57, but the odds of Arsenal winning the Premier League are at an important 9.00, on par with Liverpool and Manchester United and much better than the 15.00 of Chelsea and Newcastle.

Of course, there is a summer in the middle where anything can happen, but the premises are more than good. There is to improve placings and mainly working on concentration. Because Arsenal’s season, absolutely positive in the league, has been up and down, however, in the rest of the competitions: round of 16 in the Europa League, only third round in the League Cup and even fourth in the FA Cup. Nevertheless, there is no shortage of positives: that of coach Arteta is the third best defense in the league after Manchester City and Newcastle (tied with Manchester United) and the second-best attack with a beauty of 88 centers (still unattainable is the fresh Champions League winning team, which put up 94 goals).

These are the numbers to work on and ask for improvement next year. An improvement that will undoubtedly also come through the goals, assists, and plays of Kai Havertz. And who knows what other player will arrive in London, Arsenal side, this soccer session.
