Southport have completed the permanent transfer of 26-year-old Forward Josh Hine from Warrington Town.
Joining for his third spell at the club, Josh played for the Sandgrounders at youth level, before re-joining from Clitheroe under Liam Watson in 2012.
Southport-born, Josh was educated at Birkdale High School. A keen cricketer, Josh has also represented local club S&B as well as serving in the RAF.
Hine joined Warrington during this past summer after a prolific 2 year spell at Chorley attracted the interest of Salford City, for whom he signed for an undisclosed fee.
Josh has also played for a number of North West based clubs including Burscough and Skelmersdale United, consistently scoring goals throughout his career. He has an Evo-Stik First Division North title to his name with Skelmersdale and an Evo-Stik Northern Premier title with Chorley.
Kevin Davies said: “I am delighted that Josh Hine has agreed to join Southport. He has a proven goal record at this level and has proven to be a match winner on many occasions. He is a player who joins us with a point to prove and has impressed me with his attitude.”
“He is a Southport lad and if he plays on Saturday I am sure it will be a very proud moment for him and his family. He has a strong desire to be successful and I am sure everyone here at the club will make him feel very welcome. I want there to be competition for places in every position in my team, Josh’s pace and power adds a different dimension to our attack.”
Everyone at Southport would like to welcome Josh back to the club.
