    Jogger killed after falling into path of lorry in Bamber Bridge

    Police are appealing for witnesses after a man sadly died following a road traffic accident in Bamber Bridge.

    The incident happened at shortly before 7pm last night (Wednesday 2 December) when a man was jogging on the grass verge on Wigan Lane, near to the junction of Shady Lane. He is then believed to have fallen into the carriageway where he was involved in a collision with an oncoming lorry.

    The man, 31, suffered head injuries and was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

    PS John Jennings-Wharton from the Road Policing Unit said: “This is a tragic incident where a man has sadly lost his life. We are trying to establish exactly how this collision occurred and I would appeal to anyone who may have seen a jogger in the area around the time of the accident to contact us.”
