‘Invisible’ MP needs to show his face more say OTS readers
Southport MP Damien Moore has come under fire in some quarters for his responses to some constituents.
Mr Moore has been slated by some readers with them asking where he has been during crucial votes and more importantly when will he leave his Preston home to move to Southport.
One man, speaking on the condition of anonymity told OTS News “He doesn’t represent his constituents at all.
“I wrote to him to ask ‘where the police are’ as I had never seen one on the beat where I live, an area in which there has been more than a few burglaries recently.
I have not even seen a police officer in Southport town centre for a long time!
‘Where are they’? I asked him, but his ridiculous reply merely stated that crime was down. Is he kidding himself?
“People are frightened about crime here in Southport. I listen to PM’s Question Time and the same ridiculous figures are quoted there.
“Crime is on the rise and since I still pay Council Tax and other taxes I think we deserve police on the beat, not just in the town centre but where I live.
“I think Mr Moore MP needs to speak for himself and not simply quote statistics that mean nothing.”
