Investigation underway after body found in Lathom road, Southport

Merseyside Police are investigating following the unexplained death of a man in Southport this morning, Friday, 3 May.

Emergency services were called to an address in Lathom Road at around 10.15am to reports of concern for the safety of a man in his 70’s. He was declared dead at the scene by paramedics.

The death is being treated as unexplained at this stage, but it is not believed to be suspicious.

Next of kin have been informed. A post-mortem will take place to establish the cause of death.
