 ‘Intoxicated’ man arrested from canal barge near Halsall

Lancashire police officers have arrested an ‘intoxicated’ man from a barge on the Leeds Liverpool canal yesterday evening (Monday 1 August).

Ormskirk and Burscough Police said: “Following reports from members of the public about the manner of man driving along a stretch of the Leeds Liverpool canal between Saracens Head and The New Scarisbrick Arms an intoxcated male has been arrested on a barge.”

“Thank you to the members of the public who reported this as the early intervention potentially prevented a more serious incident.”
