A world renowned American choir is set to visit Southport on its inaugural tour of England.
The Gary Bonner Singers from Los Angeles, who have performed at three Christmas concerts at The White House and to George W. Bush, are coming to Southport’s Salvation Army to complete a tour of England.
Performing in the worship hall of The Salvation Army on Shakespeare Street on Wednesday, June 26, the choir, which is made up of 60 males and females aged 18-60 years old, will perform modern classics and spiritual songs.
Brian Johnson, bandmaster at The Salvation Army in Southport said: “We’re very excited that the Gary Bonner Singers have chosen Southport as one of the locations on their first tour of England. Together they are one of the top vocals in the US and have performed to some incredible and high-profile audiences.
“The choir sings songs of various styles; there is something for everyone from classical and pop to gospel, it really is appealing to all and is a great way to get our message out into the local community so if you enjoy music come along, there will be a great welcome waiting for you and is sure to be an evening to lift and inspire everyone.”
Following the choir’s performance in Southport, the singers will travel to Liverpool to perform in the Anglican Cathedral on Thursday, June 27, at 10:30am for a half hour set. The singers will then go on to perform in Sheffield and Derby having already performed in Bournemouth and Nottingham.
Tickets are available from the reception desk in The Salvation Army located on Shakespeare Street priced at £8.00 per adult with children under 16 free and the concert starts at 7:30 pm.
