In Pictures: Hard Ice in Southport – Stay off and Stay Safe!

15th December 2022

With plummeting sub-zero temperatures, ice and snow have adversely affected many UK regions.

Southport’s Marine Lake and also Ainsdale Lake have now frozen over.

STAY OFF AND STAY SAFE!

It should not be necessary to warn people, and especially children, of the very serious dangers that breaking ice can create.

A few moments of fun may soon turn to tragedy if the ice is thin and cracks. So stay off it and stay safe.

A similar scene and looking more like a new Ice Age in Ainsdale.

Clearly, a bit of bird food would not go amiss, during these harsh conditions.

The icy conditions are set to remain for a while, with the Met Office giving a minimum temperature of – 8 °C. again tonight.
