A tearful Southport gym owner has made an emotional plea for any and all support following news that they have to shut down under government guidance.
The Tier Three lockdown hits Southport tomorrow (Wednesday) and this includes the shutting down of gyms and leisure centres.
Rayner Croft, owner of the popular Warehouse Gym, fought back tears as she made an emotional appeal for support as she asked for people across the town to sign a petition and write to the MP calling for the rule to be reversed
Rayner said “We urge you to stand behind your local independent gym and demand for the Government to overturn the decision that was made and announced yesterday to close down all gyms once again from tomorrow Wednesday 14th October.
Here at TWG, we have struggled with not just the financial impact of being forced to close for over four months but had to battle personally with crippling anxiety on a day to day basis from worrying about whether The Warehouse Gym is going to make it or not.
Without your voice being heard on the frontline we do not stand a chance and may have to close our doors for good should we be forced to shut down from tomorrow.
As the decision is ultimately up to each individual MP to decide whether or not gyms should be allowed to stay open, we urge you to please contact our local MP of the Southport Borough, Mr Damien Moore, in a bid to save The Warehouse Gym from complete ruin.
If you would like to use the template letter that was drafted by Rayner along with the thoughts and feelings of other members then please email; thewarehousegymsouthport@outlook.com and we can send that over to you for you to sign and send via email to Mr Damien Moore; damien.moore.mp@parliament.uk
Please support your local gym as we provide an essential service to help boost and improve people’s immune systems, build people’s strength both physically and mentally and provide a safe space for all to enjoy their training.”
