A warning for icy conditions and potentially dangerous ‘black ice’ has been issued for Southport and the surrounding areas.
Weather experts say it’s likely icy patches will form on roads and pavements in the town overnight tonight (Saturday) and early Sunday morning.
The Met Office have warned that some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces may occur and motorists should look out for some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths.
Following rainfall, and some snow, on Saturday surfaces are likely to remain wet and with temperatures widely falling below freezing icy stretches are likely to form.
