Cafes and ice cream parlours in Southport have found themselves in hot water this weekend after putting out seating areas and encouraging large groups to congregate in close quarters.
Both Rossi’s Ice Cream parlour on Lord Street and a similar parlour on Nevill Street were both caught breaking serious rules after encouraging people to congregate in large numbers outside their businesses.
Businesses are only allowed to operate a takeaway service meaning customers must leave the shop’s vicinity and consume their goods elsewhere.
Both businesses have been reported to Trading Standards for breaking social distancing measures.
