Hundreds of homes left without water on hottest day of the year

Hundreds of families in the Kew area of Southport have woken up to no water supply this morning.

United Utilities say the known issue is affecting homes across the area around Meols Cop.

The outage is affecting homes and businesses.

It comes on what weather forecasters say is likely to be the hottest day of the year, leaving many to have to buy water from local shops.

A United Utilities spokesman confirmed they are looking into the issue but were unable to confirm how long the outage would last.
