A huge mural of Captain Sir Tom Moore is being painted at Charlotte House, Hoghton Street.
Commissioned by Mark Cunningham of Anthony James Estates, the mural will remain for 6 months before being auctioned to raise money for the NHS.
‘Sir Tom’ became a national hero after raising £40m pounds for the NHS walking laps of his garden at 99 years old, stretching the attempt to his 100th birthday.
The mural is by former professional boxer Rob Newbiggin, who is also behind works including Eric Morecambe and Dame Vera Lynn.
A second mural features NHS heroes, such as doctors and air ambulance workers.
It is believe the work will be the biggest mural of Sir Tom in the UK, compared to other murals in Cambourne, Tamworth and Thetford.
