Huge Lord Street Store in closing down shocker

One of the last big Southport department stores is closing down. Beales, formerly known as Broadbents, is closing down with huge yellow closing down signs plastering the windows of the Lord Street Store.

It has been a local icon for nearly a hundred years and thousands of people have been through its doors.

The closure is a massive blow to the high street however it’s not thought the store will be shut for long as bosses say they are only closing down for a refurbishment.
