HM Coastguard paged to assist after woman lost on Southport beach

HM Coastguard Southport were paged at 12:53pm to assist with the search and rescue of a female casualty lost in fog and becoming stuck in mud on Southport Beach, Sunday 8 January 2017.

The team were quick to respond and once on scene it was obvious that the visibility was minimal. The team set up a search along the pier and along the coast. With the use of the Rescue vehicle lights and loud speaker the casualty was located.

The female along with 2 dogs had managed to self rescue from the mud and was assisted back to her vehicle by Coastguard.

Also in attendance was Merseyside Police.
